RE: Outer Banks, NC

If you want to stay north of Hatteras Island we have a new CG called the Refuge and it has a web, but I think the rates are wrong on it. It is south of Maneto and just before you get into Wanchese.

RE: Bad WalMart Campers

As for dumping grey water, I have seen that in back country campgrounds. Some people just don't believe that grey water is technically sewage. When confronted about their dumping, the first comment is always "But, it's just grey water!"
The same people often believe it is OK to use their blue totes to transport their waste water to the vault toilets. In most campgrounds it is against the rules.
It has nothing to do with where they park, they are either just clueless, or they don't believe the rules apply to them.Arkansas COE let you dump gray water, so I wouldn't put it in the same class as sewage. If there was a health danger you can bet Uncle Sammy would not allow it....

RE: Bad WalMart Campers

I live in a resort area and we have a Wally. I see rvs there all the time and have yet to hear a neg. remark from anyone here on the island. Some set outside in the evenings and some have slides and awanings out. Never have seen one dump thank goodness. The only neg. comments I have ever heard on Wally parking is here on this forum...........

Dover Downs parking.....

Has anyone stayed overnight Dover Downs lately? What is the overnight parking situation with all the construction. Last year we had to park all the way off the lot on the dirt in front of the Casino. We just want to stay one night and move on after a little "pulling".:B Thanks

RE: Where they at?

They are all down here at the beach! Lots of Cs,TC, and As. I haven't been down to Hatteras, but with all the TTs going through I'm sure that they are running full down there at Camp Hatteras and the KOA. I sold my Class C yesterday and a Class A was sold last week where I had mine parked at Camper RV and Trailer Supplies here on the beach. So there is still a market and lots of interest still in our hobby.

RE: PEX pipe and fittings..

I put a faucet in my bathroom vanity for my washout so I didn't have to pull a hose through the coach.
And you've just given me an idea for my next weekend project... ;)It works great! My black tank is enclosed and I can't get to it to put a flush valve on it, so this was my 2nd choice. You can buy a pipe bracket to secure the line once you put the valve on it.

RE: 2007 Four Winds Hurricane

We looked at a Hurricane when we started looking at a class a and really like them. You don't want the earlier ones, but the last two or three years they have really put some quality in their product. We have a Infinity by Four Winds and we really love it. We looked a long time and for the money it's a great coach. Good luck. Just remember, bigger's better!!!!

RE: PEX pipe and fittings..

I put a faucet in my bathroom vanity for my washout so I didn't have to pull a hose through the coach. True the pex is softer than the commercial type we use in homes and buss. but I haven't had any problem with breakage or leakage.

I work at a resort on the beach and you would not believe how nasty most folks are. I told my wife that I would never stay where the public stays again.

My C has the V10 and I can't see having anything else. It runs up the mountains over by TN. and N.C. with no problems at all. Easy to service too.....

RE: Leveling Jacks

I really didn't want to say why, but here goes since you guys took your time to type your imput. I have my A parked in the front yard and it's a little low in the sand. Well, it's stuck, but not bad and I want to get it up a few inches to get a couple of boards under the tires. First time I have ever backed off my parking area. Thanks for the imputs. You will need something under the jacks that will hold the weight and not sink into the sand. If your jacks sink in the sand they may not retract. Thanks Chastho, I keep the jacks on 2x12 and haven't had that problem yet. I will be glad to get back on hard ground in Arkansas and off this sand pile! Thanks guys, if it stops raining tomorrow I will get her out.:B
